Williams second in Mont Sainte Anne
Jordan Williams stepped onto the junior podium in Mont Sainte Anne, at round seven of the 2022 UCI Mountain Bike World Cup.
With Matt Walker missing through injury, the Madison Saracen Factory Racing Team were down to two riders on the hill in Canada.
A crash for Williams in practice was soon forgotten and he bounced back by setting the fastest time in qualification.
On race day Williams was knocked into second position, but had the comfort of knowing his time would have landed him on the podium in the elite men's race.
In the elite women's competition, Veronika Widmann raced to finish sixth - her best result of 2022 but an agonising two-seconds off of the podium.
Racing returns on August 25-27 for the 2022 UCI Mountain Bike World Championships, in Les Gets, France.
