Madison Saracen Factory Race Team

In 2011, we launched the Madison Saracen Team to nurture and develop British mountain biking talent. This quickly grew into a Factory Race Team, and fourteen years (and a few wheel sizes) later, our Saracen Myst has proven itself to be not just World Cup-worthy but capable of winning races on the biggest stage.

After over a decade of development, shaped by the world’s fastest riders, our race-winning platform is now available for you to own.

While we may have wrapped things up with the team, its legacy lives on through the bikes we created together. We have infused our race-winning DNA into all of our bikes, but none more so than the Saracen Myst, which remains one of the fastest downhill bikes on the planet.

Madison Saracen is a huge part of our history, and we are so proud of what we achieved. Thank you to everyone who helped make our dreams a reality. Without them, we would not be where we are today.

MATT WALKER

World Cup winner in Leogang 2022, Matt Walker has taken the Myst to the top step!

The 2020 UCI Mountain Bike World Cup Series champion, Matt has his eyes firmly on becoming a legend of the sport he loves.

With Madison Saracen since 2014, Matt spent four years on our development programme and won the junior world championships in 2017.

Embodying the professionalism and work ethic needed to succeed at the top of the sport, we were delighted to welcome Matt onto the Factory Team in 2018.

GREG WILLIAMSON

Greg packs a decade of elite racing experience, with eight top-10 World Cup rides in his career and in 2023 a top-10 at his home World Championships in Fort William.

GEORGE MADLEY

Stepping up to the Factory Team in 2024, George joins the world cup circus as a first year junior, with the aim of learning his craft, guided by Matt, Greg and Will.

WILL LONGDEN

Taking Madison Saracen from development squad in 2012 to the number-one UCI World Cup team in 2014, Will Longden’s history in mountain biking runs deep.

A revered racer, Longden competed for some of Britain’s biggest teams on his way to four national titles in downhill, fourcross and dual slalom and international success spanning 15-consecutive world championship starts from 1993 - 2008.

An instrumental player in a pioneering generation of Great British downhillers, including Rob Warner, Steve Peat and Jason McRoy, Will continued his involvement in the sport by helping the next generation of British talent.

Matt Walker wins his first elite-level World Cup race in Leogang and Jordan Williams becomes junior World Champion, putting the Myst firmly onto the top-spot of the podium.

First year junior Jordan Williams takes his first steps onto the international scene and wins back-to-back World Cup races in Snowshoe.

2020 | MATT WALKER WINS WORLD CUP OVERALL

An unforgettable season for the team, as Matt Walker steps onto the podium at every round of the World Cup series and takes the overall victory!

Only the fourth Brit to take the title, Matt joins British mountain bike royalty and etches his name alongside Steve Peat, Gee Atherton, Josh Bryceland.

2019 | DANNY HART WINS OUR FIRST ELITE MEN'S WORLD CUP

The most intense finish to a World Cup season in living memory and Danny puts the Myst on the top step!

Danny's seventh visit to the podium of the season was his sweetest for the team and showed that from humble beginnings, the Myst had matured into a thoroughbred race bike.

Quietly, Matt Walker chalked up his first World Cup podium, showing his potential as one of the fastest young riders in the sport.

2018 | DANNY HART COMES OUT OF HIS BOX FIRING

"Well who the hell did you think it was?" Although it didn't win any Oscars, Danny coming out of a box and revealing himself as our very own Stig on a bike set the scene for a very successful season of racing.

Multiple podium visits saw Danny take second in the World Cup series and at the World Championships he was an agonising 0.3-seconds away from a third rainbow jersey.

Matt Walker made his first steps into the elite ranks and found immediate success, taking a top-10 at the Fort William World Cup. He would go on to win the Briitsh Championships at the first time of asking, rounding out a stellar year for the team.

2017 | MATT WALKER WINS JUNIOR WORLD CHAMPS

After a season-long World Cup battle with Finn Iles, Matt Walker ends on a high and takes the rainbow jersey in Cairns, Australia.

The accolade goes alongside his World Cup win on home turf in Fort William - a standout moment for any British mountain biker and a dream in the making for three years.

Spanish signing Alex Marin delivers in Andorra and bags his best-ever World Cup result of eighth.

2016 | MANON SECOND OVERALL, MATT TAKES FIRST WORLD CUP WIN

Manon Carpenter made another podium visit as the World Cup concluded, taking second in the overall standings.

Racing his first junior World Cup season a young Matt Walker showed his intentions, as he placed second in the opening round and then won the following race in Cairns! To top it all, Matt also took the British title at the first time of asking.

There was success on the domestic scene for Matt Simmonds who won the British Downhill Series and counted 12th place in Leogang as his World Cup season highlight.

2015 | MANON CARPENTER AND SAM DALE ENJOY PODIUM SUCCESS

Manon Carpenter finished the season with a flourish to grab second in the World Cup overall, returning after a huge over-the-bars crash in Fort William.

Sam Dale grabbed his career-best finish in Lourdes with fifth place.

2014 | MANON DOES THE DOUBLE AS SIMMONDS GETS ON THE BOX

Winning the World Cup overall and the World Championships is a dream for any mountain bike racer - and Manon Carpenter made that a reality as she completed an astonishing season.

Wins in Pietermaritzburg, Leogang and Mont Sainte Anne placed her as undisputed queen of the sport and in Hafjell, Norway she took the rainbow jersey to complete a brilliant season.

In the elite men's category Matt Simmonds scored the team's best ever result with a third-place in Meribel, and to cap it all the team ended the year ranked world number one by the UCI.

2013 | MANON THIRD OVERALL IN THE WORLD CUP SERIES

With four second-place finishes, Manon Carpenter proved her form in 2012 was no fluke as she displayed speed and consistency in 2013. Although missing out on another World Cup victory, third overall in the series showed a maturity and that she could race for the championship.

Our development team continued to show signs of promise as Phil Atwill took second place at the Val di Sole round of the junior World Cup.

2012 | OUR FIRST ELITE WORLD CUP PODIUM

Manon Carpenter took our Saracen Myst to it's first ever elite World Cup podium in Pietermaritzburg and went on to claim a broze medal at her first elite world championships.

What started as an ambitious project to develop the best of young British downhill talent one year previous, had become a successful Factory Race Team!

2011 | JUNIOR WORLD CHAMPION

At what has become possibly the most storied World Championships of all time, Manon Carpenter made it through the mud of Champery to win the junior title.

Racing her way to the rainbow jersey, this was the start of our journey from development squad, to Factory Race Team.
