Matt Walker has confirmed that he will not make a return to racing in 2022, as he completes rehab from a broken kneecap.
This means Walker will miss the World Championships in Les Gets and the final round of the World Cup series in Val di Sole.
Walker sustained his injuries when he crashed out of qualifying at round six of the World Cup series in Snowshoe, America.
Since late-July, Walker travelled back to the UK to get his damage assessed by specialists and has been working to return for the final two races of the season.
However, recent checks on the progress of the healing process have revealed complications and put an end to his ambition to compete in the final races of 2022.
The news comes as a bitter blow to Walker who had been enjoying a stellar season to-date, taking his first ever World Cup victory in Leogang and eyeing a World Cup series overall podium finish.
Everyone from Saracen wishes Matt a full and fast recovery and will be there to support his ambitions as he looks toward the 2023 season.
