What a weekend for the Madison Saracen team where every single rider came away with a National title and a new GB sleeve for next year.
In an unprecedented weekend for the team, Matt Walker, George Madley, Felix Griffiths and Liv Taylor all won their respective categories at Rhyd-y-Felin to prove that the Saracen Myst is definitely the fastest downhill bike in the country.
First up, Matt Walker. Matt was on fire all weekend and after qualifying P2, he held off stiff competition from current World Champion Charlie Hatton to win by over three seconds in a time of 3:06 which was the fastest across the entire weekend. An awesome result and a perfect way to set up for the second half of the season for the 2020 World Cup overall winner.
George Madley was riding in the Junior category and the times were unbelievably tight – less than one second separated 1st and 4th place. It was George however that was able to find an extra 0.03 seconds to win the title from Will Haines. An unbelievable ride for an incredibly deserving young rider.
Times were tight in the male 15-16 category too but again it was Felix riding his Saracen Myst that put some daylight between him and the rest, getting to the bottom in a red-hot time of 3:22, 1.5 seconds ahead of 2nd place. That time was good enough to see him finish 8th in the junior category, so great to see Felix laying it down in Wales.
Last but by no means least is our amazing Liv Taylor who wiped the floor with the competition. Liv finished an incredible 8 seconds clear of her nearest rival and that time would have seen her finish 7th in the senior category which just goes to show how much potential this young lady has.
Huge congratulations to the Madison Saracen Factory and Development teams, all of the riders and to Will Longden and Matt Simmonds who helped guide everyone to a historic set of results.
