Jordan Williams has taken his first ever UCI Mountain Bike World Cup victory in Snowshoe, USA with a dominant performance in the Junior men's category.
Williams took the win by over three-seconds to claim a long-awaited victory. After already placing second at the World Championships and two rounds of the World Cup series, this was his reward for never giving up.
So far this season Williams has overcome a series of crashes in practice and on race day - but in Snowshoe everything came together. What's more - as a first year Junior, Jordan still has another year in the category to look forward to.
In the elite men's race Matt Walker also enjoyed success, taking his best World Cup result of 2021 so far. Seventh place was just 0.4-seconds down on the podium and replicated Matt's World Championships result.
With one round remaining, Matt now sits 12th in the overall standings and tantalisingly close to a top-10 overall finish and protected status for the 2022 season.
In the elite women's race, Veronika Widmann qualified eighth, however a crash counted her out of the race. We all wish Vero a speedy recovery for next season.
